Cheese “Tilsiter NT” has a pronounced cheese and slightly sour taste with a bit of bitterness. It has a delicate plastic-like consistency, round, oval - shaped holes of different sizes evenly scattered all over the thing. Tilsiter cheese was invented in the mid-19th century in the city of Tilsit ( East Prussia) by immigrants from Switzerland. This cheese goes well with rye bread and dark beers. It is used in salads, sauces, potatoes, pies and sandwiches.
